Lotus Light Temple on East Hastings

About

Located at 357 East Hastings Street, the Lotus Light Temple officially opened on March 10, 1996. This spiritual sanctuary in the heart of the city represents one of the 70 temples under the True Buddha School, founded by the revered Grand Master Sheng-Yen Lu, also known as Living Buddha Lian Sheng. Its unique blend of Tantrayana, Sutrayana, and Taoist traditions sets the Lotus Light Temple apart, creating a powerful lineage that resonates throughout its sacred halls.

Inside, you are immediately enveloped by profound reverence and tranquility. The temple houses several magnificent shrines adorned with ornate tankas—exquisitely hand-woven cloths that depict sacred images—and breathtaking statues of Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma Protectors. These remarkable works of art, many of which were crafted by master artisans in Nepal, lend the temple a sense of timeless beauty and spiritual depth.

Beyond its stunning aesthetics, the Lotus Light Temple offers various spiritual services, including ceremonies, group practice (cultivation), meditation, and spiritual consultations. Seeking inner peace, spiritual growth, or simply a moment of reflection, the Lei Zang Si Temple provides a welcoming space for all who enter.
