Vancouver’s Iconic Topless Sculptures
The Sun Tower in Vancouver, adorned with nine caryatids sculpted by Charles Marega, who also created the lions at the Lions Gate Bridge and the George Vancouver statue, is a historical marvel. These topless maidens, positioned halfway up the building, initially shocked the city’s elite and hindered leasing. Despite this, the Sun Tower remains an iconic piece of Vancouver’s architectural heritage.
